SHORT DESCRIPTION
Known as The Dark Blue Pearl, Lake Khuvsgul is Mongolia’s largest and deepest lake. Located in the northern province, it is the largest tributary stream of Lake Baikal in Russia. Lake Khuvsgul is 136 km long,36 km wide, 262 metres deep and is located at an altitude of 1645 m above sea level and is frozen from January until April or May. It’s the second largest fresh water lake in Central Asia. It’s inhabited by nine species of fish including the Siberian grayling and lenok. Taiga Fauna and Flora, Tsaatan, practicing reindeer breeding are the main attractions in the area. Different ethnic groups live in the area: Khalkha and Darhadt. Tsaatans are reindeer herders. Lake Khuvsgul is on the important migration route for birds from Siberia, thus facilitating marvelous opportunities for birdwatching.

GUIDE
A Chinese, English or Russian speaking Mongolian guide will accompany the group at all times. The guide will be a native Mongolian person with great local knowledge who can deal with any requests and ensure that your holiday to become one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life.
TRANSPORT
This trip you have a two choice. First one is a highest level, latest model, air-conditioned private 4WD vehicles for the maximum comfort on your touring days. And second choice is Russian 4x4 Van. Also with 20 years’ experience drives.
MEALS
In Mongolia, you will be dining at fine American, European and Asian cuisine restaurants. Mutton, beef, rice and noodles form the basis of the Mongolian diet, so your meals will be based around this. However, the trail rations may include vegetables, eggs, peanut butter, cheese and sometimes yak! On some days there will be lunchboxes from our cook.
PERSONAL THINGS TO BRING WITH YOU
Warm thin layers of clothing are the best such as bring a rain jacket, gloves and hiking booth. Don’t forgot first aid kit (medicine for headache, cold, diarrhea, runny nose; bandages; any medicine prescribed for you). All your camera equipment.

Day 1 - Ulaanbaatar capital city of Mongolia

Pick you up our driver and guide from Chinggis Khan international airport. Drive to Your hotel. Visit local outdoor market /bazaar/, Gandan Monastery and Mongolia national museum. Evening Leisure day in Ulaanbaatar city. Over night at Hotel

Day 2 - Khuvsgul lake

You will be met at your hotel, at a pre-arranged time, by a driver and guide, and transferred to the airport for your morning flight to Murun. The flight from Ulaanbaatar to the capital of the Khuvsgul Province will take one and a half hours and you will be accompanied by your guide. On arrival at Moron you will be met by a local driver and jeep and after a light lunch you will drive north toward Lake Khuvsgul. The drive is about 120 km and will take about 3 hours. On arrival at the lake you will be taken to your ger camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3, 4 - Khuvsgul lake

Spend three idyllic days by the lake. There will be ample time for hiking in the surrounding hills, swimming in the lake or just gazing out over the vast blue expanse of water. You will be staying at a ger camp and all meals will be at the camp. For lunch there will be an option of taking a packed lunch out with you.

Day 5 - Ulaanbaatar city

Today will be an early start in order to get back to Murun in time for your return flight to Ulaanbaatar. On arrival in Ulaanbaatar you will be met by a driver and vehicle and taken back to your hotel.
