<p><span class="text-big"><strong>SHORT DESCRIPTION</strong></span></p><hr><p style="text-align:justify;">During the communist period in Kazakhstan, many Kazakhs fled for Mongolia,settling down in Bayan Ulgii, an area that has been designated for the Kazakhs of Mongolia today. Kazakhs (Altaic Kazakhs or Altai-Kazakhs) living in Bayan-Ölgii Province of Mongolia continue to hunt with eagles today. There are an estimated 250 eagle hunters in the Western Mongolian province. Their falconry custom, so-called ‘horse-riding eagle falconry’, is unique in practice only with trained Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos daphanea) on horseback. Their hunting target is almost limited to Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) or Corsac Fox (Vulpes corsac). In the first week of October, 70 eagle hunters gather for the annual Golden Eagle Festival of Mongolia &nbsp;They use eagles to hunt foxes and hare during the cold winter months when it is easier to see the gold colored foxes against the snow. Many Kazakh traditions have been preserved by the Kazakhs in Mongolia, eagle hunting being amongst them. Although the Kazakh government has made efforts to lure the practitioners of these Kazakh traditions back to Kazakhstan, most Kazakhs have remained in Mongolia.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The Golden Eagle Festival has been the largest gathering of eagle hunters and their eagles in the world since it started in 1999 with 70 eagle hunters participating in this event. It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Event. The festival starts with display of eagles and hunters, and then goes into the events of eagles displaying their talents. The first event is the eagle catching fox skin dragged behind a horse, returning to their owner from a distance on command, as well as a camel race and Kazakh games of Tiyn Teru (a race to pick up a coin on the ground while on horseback), Kyz Kuar (“girl chase,” a man and woman race on horseback while the woman whips the man), and Kokpar (tug of war over a goat carcass while on horseback). Day 7 - Ranger station, Altai Tavan Bogd mountain

Day 1 - Ulaanbaatar capital city of Mongolia

It became extinct in the wild in the 1960’s, and since 1992 has been successfully re – introduced to Hustai and other parts of Mongolia, from zoos around the world. Arrive at the Hustai National Park, visit Takhi’s small museum and continue drive to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes. Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, located at the Khogno Khan Nature Reserve, represents mini Gobi at the Khangai mountain range. Day 2 - Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes via Khustai Nuruu national park

Karakorum, the capital of Great Mongolian State where today there is a small local township. In the history, the city of Karakorum was founded in 1220 in Orkhon River Valley by order of Genghis Khan and after collapsing of Yuan dynasty of Khuvilai Khan Min state’s invaders sacked the city and massacred its inhabitants in 1388 and ruined it. After 200 years, Erdene Zuu, built in 1586, is the first Buddhist monastery to have been built in Mongolia and by various construction materials were taken from the ruins of Karakorum. At its peak in the late 18th century the complex of ornate gardens and 62 temples was home to over 1000 lamas. But in 1937, by communist purges the whole monastery completely destroyed. We will visit to Karakorum Museum, Karakorum Ruin Open Museum and Erdene Zuu Monastery Complex respectively. Day 3 - Karakorum - Erdenezuu monastery

The monastery was built in 1654 by High Saint Zanabazar who was a great sculptor and one of the biggest representatives of Buddhism in Mongolia. During Zanabazar’s lifetime retreat was called Bayasgalant Aglag Oron (Happy Secluded Place) and after his death it became Tuvkhun Monastery, the name which it is known today. Hike through the black forests and explore the monastery, and after picnic lunch we will head to Orkhon Waterfall. Over 25 m high Orkhon Waterfall is the biggest waterfall in Mongolia and one of the most attractive destinations in Orkhon river valley, UNISCO World heritage site. The surrounding areas of the waterfall were formed by volcanic activities dated back approximately 20,000 years (possibly Quaternary period). Flows of Orkhon River created a 130 km long canyon through the lava plateau. The area is ideal for fishing, horse riding, cycling and photography. Scenic and untouched natural distinct spot allow good opportunities for hiking and horseback riding and we will do that. We will do some horse riding through the breathtakingly beautiful areas and our horse riding activity suitable from beginners to advanced riders. Day 4 - Orkhon waterfall via Tuvkhun monastery

The Arkhangai province have many old volcanos, which explain the presence of this hot water source that flows all year long at 1860 meters (1, 16 mile) above the sea level in the sub province of Tsenkher. The water is at 85,5°C (185,9°F). In a pleasant verdant wooded area, some Ger camps with equipment and baths with a less hot temperature have been set up for the travelers. Tsenkher hot springs have healing properties notably on articular diseases and nervous system’s diseases. In the evening have spa bath and relax at Ger camp. Day 5 - Tsenkher hot spring

On the way we will pass the Tsertserleg town, which is provincial center of Arkhangai province. Just before we reach the Khorgo-Terkh National Park we will see Chuluut river great canyon which huge creation of volcanic earthquake. After arriving at Khorgo –Terkh National Park, climb up to the top of extinct volcano Khorgo, the top view is amazing. The Khorgo crater, situated at an altitude of 2.210 meters with a diameter of 20 meters and depth of 70 to 80 meters, approximately 8000 years ago volcanic lava flooded the valleys nearby which are covered today with small forests of Siberian larch and a great variety of berries and flowers. Arrive at the camp, and after some relaxation free hiking around or swimming in the beautiful lake Terkh White. Day 6 - Khorgo volcano mountain

Arrive at the camp and after lunch we will spend rest of the day boating (optional) and fishing at the lake. Day 4 - Base camp, Altai tavan Bogd mountain

Its highest peak, the Khüiten Peak formerly also known as Nairamdal Peak, is the highest point of Mongolia at 4374 meters above sea level. The Tavan Bogd massif is located mostly within the Bayan-Ulgii Province of Mongolia its northern slopes are in Russia’s Altai Republic, and western, in China’s Burqin County. Day 6 - Ranger station, Altai Tavan Bogd mountain

Stop by snake river valley and see ancient burial mounds, petroglyphs and dear stones. Continue to drive to the lakes. Arrive at the Kazakh nomadic family. Settle down there for the next couple of days camping. Overnight in yurt. Lakes area is with trees, snow capped mountains, pristine lakes and mineral water rivers. Today we will slaughter a sheep and invite all other Kazakh neighbors and have five fingers feast. Sing songs and have fun with nomads. Slaughtering a sheep is a tradition of Kazakh when they have important guests at their yurts.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Khoton and Khurgan</strong> lakes are Located in the northern part of the Altai mountain range, near the Chinese border, in Bayan-Ulgii, the westernmost of the provinces of Mongolia, Khurgan and Khoton are 2 lakes situated at an elevation of more than 2.000m. The road to the lakes, located in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, is gravel. It’s narrow, steep, and impassable in winters. Do not travel this pass in severe weather conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. &nbsp;From October the surface of the lakes starts to freeze, creating then 1.3-1.6 m ice thickness.<br>Khurgan Lake lies at an elevation of 2,072m above the sea level, and Khoton Lake at 2,084m. It has a well-deserved reputation for being dangerous because of unpredictable snowstorms and blizzards, and driving under these conditions, can be extremely challenging. One of the most challenging parts of the route is a small wooden bridge over the lakes, with a length of 100m. This bridge tests the skill, and courage, of any driver. Day 7 - Khoton lake, Altai Tavan Bogd national park

Same day you will do short driving to the west side and camp next to khoton lake.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Baga Turgen waterfall </strong>is In Altai Tavan Bogd National Park located very easy accessible waterfall in Baga Turgen valley around Khoton and Khurgan Nuur area. This waterfall formed from small glaciers up the Altai range mountain and flows through local Kazakh nomads. This is very beautiful spot with gorges mountains and different lifestyles around. As easy to get there it is very good for short hiking through local Kazakh nomads meet their everyday activity, visit the waterfall, enjoy the perfect landscapes and even swim under that waterfall.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>eagle hunter</strong> is a traditional form of falconry found throughout the Eurasian Steppe, practiced by the Kazakhs and the Kyrgyz in contemporary Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as diasporas in Bayan-Ulgii Provinces Bayan-Ulgii, Mongolia, and Xinjiang, China. Though these people are most famous for hunting with golden eagles, they have been known to train northern goshawks, peregrine falcons, saker falcons, and more. In both Kazakh and Kyrgyz, there are separate terms for those who hunt with birds of prey in general, and those who hunt with eagles. In Kazakh, both qusbegi and sayatshy refer to falconers in general. Qusbegi comes from the words qus bird and bek lord, thus literally translating as lord of birds. In Old Turkic, kush begiwas a title used for the khan’s most respected advisors, reflecting the valued role of the court falconer. Sayatshy comes from the word sayat falconry and the suffix -shy, used for professional titles in Turkic languages. The Kazakh word for falconers that hunt with eagles is búrkitshy, from búrkit golden eagle, while the word for those that use goshawks is qarshyghashy, from qarshygha goshawk. In Kyrgyz, the general word for falconers is münüshkör. Day 10 - Home sweet home

It colorful earth wall We will pick you up from your accommodation and drive to Tsagaan Suvarga. It is sheer slope and was an old seabed with sedimentary structure created by millions years and the different colors of the ground represent different times. The formation is over 50 m in its highest point and continues 400 m and looks like a ancient ghost city form a distance. There is no clear date of geography research work and it is good spot take rest and overnight place driving to South Gobi desert from Middle Gobi desert. We will do some hiking around the site. Day 2 - Tsagaan suvarga Cliff

There horse ride and natural museum After breakfast time, we will drive to Yol Valley. Yol means vulture in Mongolian and the valley begins from Zuun Saikhan Mountain, a branch of the Gurvan Saikhan Mountain range, and stretches over 10 km. The narrowest part, only 3 or 4 person can pass in same time, of the valley is completely shaded from the direct sun shine by high cliff walls. Also, the valley is famous for the fact that there is ice created in winter by small stream of the valley present there even during the hot summer months until end of July. The beauty of the valley, combined with the smell of juniper creates an atmosphere of awe and wonder this is an experience not to be missed! There we will ride horse through the valley. An hour hiking is also a nice activity there if you not like horse ride. As well, we visit to local natural museum of Gurvan Saikhan National Park. Day 3 - Yol valley, Gobi Gurvan Saikhan national park

Khongor is second biggest sand dune in the country that extend along the northern side of Sevrei and Zoolun mountain ranges. It range from 5 to 10 km in width, nearly 100 km long, with crests rising 80 to 300m above the surrounding landscape. The booming sound produced by the masses of moving sand can be heard from afar when occurs windy day. Hence locals called it as Singing Sands. Near Khongor River at the northern edge of the dunes, there is an oasis. We will ride camels today to explore these massive sand-dunes and explore the area where climbing one of the dunes affords the energetic traveler with an unforgettable experience of endless vistas across a sea of daffodil-colored sand. Day 4 - Khongor sand dune, Gobi Gurvan Saikhan national park

Bayanzag means saxual forest in English and area of red cliffs “Bayanzag” which have been formed from the erosion of the water and wind over many millions of years. A lot of dinosaurs’ findings such as Protoceratops &amp; dinosaur’ eggs have been found there in first time. American zoologist Roy Chapman Andrews discovered this place and named as Flaming Cliffs. The red colored cliffs themselves are very imposing from a distance, and are particularly fiery in the light of the setting sun. It is an interesting place to wander about to get a closer look at one of the world’s most famous paleontological sites. In the evening we will walk around the site. Day 5 - Bayanzag cliff, Gobi Gurvan Saikhan national park

Ongi Monastery Ruins is the visible ruins of a Buddhist monastery founded in 1760 and destroyed in 1937 by communists. Located on the shore of the Ongi River, the monastery was formerly one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia. Raw violence of the destruction at Ongiin Khiid was still visible, still palpable, even though it happened over years ago. It is a good place for overnight of traveling between Central Mongolia and Gobi. We will hike to the ruins for visiting to local ger museum displayed survived objects of destroyed monastery and a small lovely and active Buddhist temple. Day6 - Ongi monastery

Day 7 - Orkhon waterfall, Orkhon valley

Karakorum, the capital of Great Mongolian State where today there is a small local township. In the history, the city of Karakorum was founded in 1220 in Orkhon River Valley by order of Genghis Khan and after collapsing of Yuan dynasty of Khuvilai Khan Min state’s invaders sacked the city and massacred its inhabitants in 1388 and ruined it. After 200 years, Erdene Zuu, built in 1586, is the first Buddhist monastery to have been built in Mongolia and by various construction materials were taken from the ruins of Karakorum. At its peak in the late 18th century the complex of ornate gardens and 62 temples was home to over 1000 lamas. But in 1937, by communist purges the whole monastery completely destroyed. We will visit to Karakorum Museum, Karakorum Ruin Open Museum and Erdene Zuu Monastery Complex respectively.
